Justin Kluivert, born on May 5, 1999, in Zandvoort, the Netherlands, holds dual citizenship of the Netherlands and Suriname. He is a Dutch footballer who plays as a winger or forward. A product of Ajax’s youth academy, he made his debut in the Eerste Divisie for Ajax’s reserve team in September 2016, and his Eredivisie debut for the first team followed in January 2017. In March 2017, he scored his first Eredivisie goal, and in November of the same year, he recorded a hat-trick. During his time at Ajax, he also participated in the UEFA Europa League; although he didn’t play in the final, his team finished as runners-up. In June 2018, he transferred to AS Roma for 18.75 million euros. In October 2018, he scored in the UEFA Champions League, becoming Roma’s youngest-ever goalscorer in the competition; in December of the same year, he netted his first Serie A goal. During the 2019–20 season, he switched to wearing the number 99 jersey. In the 2020–21 season, he was loaned to RB Leipzig, where his first Bundesliga goal came against Bayern Munich; he also scored in the Champions League. He was subsequently loaned to OGC Nice in the 2021–22 season and to Valencia in the 2022–23 season. In June 2023, he joined his current club for around 11 million euros, making his Premier League debut in August. In November 2023, he scored his first goal for the team, followed by his first Premier League goal; this made him only the third player to have scored in all five major European leagues, as well as the first to score both in the Eredivisie and in the Premier League. In November 2024, he became the first Premier League player to score three penalty goals in a single match. Thanks to his performances of five goals and two assists that month, he was named EA SPORTS Player of the Month, becoming only the second player in the club’s history to receive this honor. In 2016, he represented the Netherlands U17 team at the UEFA European Under-17 Championship, helping his side reach the semifinals. In March 2018, he earned his first call-up to the senior national team; he made his debut as a substitute in a friendly match against Portugal, which the Netherlands won 3–0.
